That's the Calgary Tower. It serves as a giant observation tower overlooking downtown Calgary. It was also used as a giant Olympic torch at one point in its life
Good for taking awesome shots
Here's a photograph I really like - I took this earlier this year on expired film, I then ran it through audacity to databend it a little, it's the cover art to my latest music project

oh yo that's sick, what camera and film were you using? I got a Nikon F3 and bought some expired Ektachrome 160T and I'm hoping I'll get some interesting color shifts or artifacts. keep shooting man

Terry: Lovely colours. I know how you feel about phone quality though, it sucks when you know how much of a better shot you could have gotten. But it's still pretty great.

Here's a photo I really wish I had used a proper camera for. An orphanage in the Philippines.

I'm using an Canon AE-1 Program - I dug it out from a box at my mother's house along with a few rolls of film - the film itself is Fujichome Sensai II 200, which expired 1999. It's honestly a pretty gross film, really grainy and it doesn't expire nicely, the photos needed a lot of processing to look anything close to decent. I've been meaning to learn to develop my own film, I'll probably start with B/W film (I've bought a roll of Ilford, just need the chemicals) and then move to color when I know what I'm doing. I'll post some other photos I took with this film later, I was visiting family in England in January so they're all taken around town.
A few of the photos taken in England mentioned in previous post:
Pictures from Banff. more to come
