How do you guys stay motivated when there are so many people that you know could whoop your ass musically. For example, I play drums and get super inspired but also almost overwhelmed by people like Zach Hill (I know save the cringing for my other posts) or Christan Illinger or JD Beck. It just seems like theres this impossible curve that won't be crossed. How do you guys stay motivated? Is this just me being insecure or is this a common feeling among you guys?

A good idea is to track where demotivation is coming from. What is dragging you down.

Another idea is to get back to the root of why you enjoyed it to begin with and examine whats changed.

you can't expect to be as good as people who made their art their whole lives and have teams of people to make them sound good. solo is a lonely road so don't beat yourself up.
