Garfield is one funny cat. There was one early comic where Garfield praised Mondays because he is a cat and doesn't have to go to work like his owner Jon Arbuckle. Now, Garfield is adamantly against the concept of a Monday. Some theorize that's because he has to persist on reheated lasagna but I disagree. I believe that he hates Mondays because he is a cat and misses his owner Jon. 

Now you're probably thinking that's out of character for Garfield. Why would he miss Jon if he spends most of his waking hours terrorizing the man? There is one simple explanation. Garfield is a classic example of a Tsundere.
